Orthopaedic trauma covers a range of injuries that may occur to the bone and tendons due to accidents. In addition, the healing of these injuries may be complex as poor alignment, and non-unions of the fracture are common.
Dr Heymans covers a range of fractures, breaks and injuries to the soft tissue that may occur during trauma, including those that may have been accidents at work (injury on duty). His experience ranges from isolated simple fractures to more complex compound fractures and injuries of the joint. Trauma injuries require treatments such as minimally invasive surgery, bone grafting, tissue reconstruction as well as complex upper and lower limb reconstruction.
The goal for Dr Heymans is to restore the health and strength of the bones and maintain the range of motion of those who have been victims of accidents. With his expertise and skills, he aims to enhance recovery and allow his patients to go back to their active lifestyle as soon as possible.
